4th of July Weekend
My 4th of July Weekend was pretty interesting! My parents didn't have work on Friday so I decided to go home on Thursday night. At first we didn't know what to do, but then I exclaimed, "Flea Market!" And so we went to the San Jose Flea Market. This place is HUGE by the way! My parents haven't been there in about 5+ years and we totally forgot how cheap it was. They were selling luggages for $20! Both my parents bought wide brimmed hats for our 4th of July picnic (both for $4!) and my brother bought sunglasses for $5.
I bought this really pretty fan ($1) and a habanero plant ($6)! Okay, chili plant, but the man I bought it from called it Habanero! Here it is:
Afterwards, we prepared for our 4th of July Picnic at Ed Levin County Park which is where we frequent when my family and I don't feel like going anywhere far. I hauled my bike from my apartment to the South Bay as I told my Uncle that I recently got a bike from my favorite person and knew that he would bring his own bikes to the soiree. Needless to say, my female cousins were pretty happy with my bike as they got to ride with their significant other using my uncle's "manly" bikes.
After the picnic, my lovely city was giving free fireworks for the community. My family was lucky enough that we lived across the street from where they were holding it. But unfortunately, we had to fix our cars around so that our own guests will have parking as the whole city seemed to be there for the fireworks event. We ended up walking to the nearby Asian supermarket parking lot and sitting down on the sidewalk. There was a lot of people! People were also sitting in the parking lot and cars were blocking our view because they seemed to keep coming into the parking lot even though they knew that there was no chance they would get any type of parking in there. A mother started directing traffic because her children's views were blocked. Everyone clapped and cheered when that happened.
I think I will write my city to help direct traffic next time or else to close off some part of the street and reroute motorists like they do for the art and wine festival. There were a lot of cars and a lot of near accidents and there were children and parents with strollers. My heart would stop every time they would cross since all these motorists weren't looking at the roads but at the fireworks.
My family thought the impromptu traffic police from the mother was more interesting and they missed the heart shaped fireworks! My favorite person and I saw it and since it was our 4 year anniversary we immediately thought it was meant for us. It was really hard to get pictures of the fireworks and my batteries died so this was the only picture I got.
Next weekend, my favorite person and I will be celebrating our 4 year anniversary as we didn't get to celebrate this weekend. I mentioned biking to a park and picnicking. I'm planning to make him some really good wraps, maybe strawberries and champagne, too! Afterwards, we're movie hopping again! Please don't tell on us!
Till Next Time.
